BLASPHEMY: NEW AND SELECTED STORIES

by Sherman Alexie

I've liked Alexie's short stories since I first read him in Samrat Upadhyay's class in college. In this book we have some of his great older stories alongside new ones. There are more gritty and darkly comic stories chronicling the modern lives of Native Americans. Alexie doesn't write about people unless they live on the fringes of society. So his stories are always unnerving, somewhat shocking, but always compelling.
